TCS Selection Process and Placement Rounds
The TCS selection process consists of three main rounds - The Aptitude test, the Group Discussion and the Personal Interview. The Aptitude Test consists of 2 parts: one online MCQ test based on Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, and the other being a written ability test. The time duration for the online test is usually 80 minutes for 30 questions. The written ability test is for 10 minutes. The Group Discussion is included if there is a paucity of time for hosting the interview process for all candidates. Also, there have been instances where more than 1 interview has also been conducted. However, these are pretty rare occurrences in on-campus placements.
TCS Aptitude Round Topics, Difficulty Level and Cut-Off
Questions in the TCS Aptitude test contain topics from areas of both Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Primarily, questions from TCS are known to be quite different from the ones that are asked in placement tests of other companies. They prepare the questions themselves and the difficulty level of the questions are quite high in comparison to that of other tests. Moreover, the questions are designed such that they are logic oriented and less math oriented. This means that memorising formulae are going to be of little use in the online Aptitude test. The cut-off for this exam is dependent on 2 factors – the number of people who attend the placement drive and the number of people that has been planned to be recruited from the placement drive. Since a large number of applicants are usually a part of the drive, the cut-off too will be quite high. Aim to get into the top 20% of the results to ensure a place in the second round.

It’s a 2-round interview: Technical and HR.
For the technical round, keep your skills updated and have a strong understanding of everything mentioned in your resume.
If you clear the technical round, the HR round is usually easier. They mainly expect good communication skills and want to see how confidently you communicate during the HR round
