Your first interview is over the phone and it is a very simple pre-screening process involving questions like what are you strengths/weaknesses, where do you see yourself in 5 years, and had one behavioral question: tell me about a time when you had to work with a difficult co-worker and how you worked together to complete an assignment. After that, they schedule you immediately for an in-person interview at a local district office. I came suited up and waited with a current Target employee in the waiting area before getting invited to interview. I was interviewed by one store team leader and the Target employee was interviewed by the other, and then we switched after answering 5 behavioral questions with one to go answer 5 more with the other. The atmosphere was comfortable and the interviewers were professional, albeit a bit scrutinizing. My answers were honest, but I could tell that they were trained to detect BS by paying attention to your eyes and body language. That being said, either my answers were too boring, irrelevant, and not extraordinary enough because I was emailed a rejection notice a couple days after that. I speculate that the position was offered to the Target employee that interviewed with me that day probably because she had more experience with the company and with retail in general. I will never know why I didn't get a 3rd interview but I did my homework here on glassdoor.com and the reviews and advice were extremely helpful in preparing me for the interview process.
