      J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez Taboola

      I'm new immigrant to Israel. I applied for a product design role at Taboola through a referral and initially had a positive conversation with a person working there, where I clarified the language expectations, that I still learning Hebrew, but my English is fluent. Despite being reassured that fluent English would suffice due to Taboola being an international company, my experience during the interview process was disappointing. (in job description never stated about Hebrew level, just about high English level!) I prepared extensively for the telephone interview, dedicating the entire day to reading about Taboola's mission, watching tutorials etc. When the HR representative called, I politely requested to switch to English, as I am currently learning Hebrew and not yet fluent. However, the HR refused and continued the conversation in Hebrew, emphasizing the importance of the language for the role. Feeling shocked and unable to fully express myself, I could only manage to respond briefly in Hebrew before the conversation ended after about a minute. I wrote her a kind email that day, saying I would be happy if we could continue, and if I could express and introduce myself in English...I received the rejection email next day in the morning. This experience left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I had hoped for a more inclusive approach from HR. Moving forward, I hope that Taboola can consider improving their communication and language expectations during the interview process to better align with their international reputation, (just please write language expectation in job description!)
