      Entretien

Within 4 hours of applying, I had a return email requesting a telephone interview. As I was out of town at the time, they were very accommodating to my schedule. The first interview was very informal - a get to know you conversation. Not a lot of focus on my back history save for the direct connection experience recruiting and the industry I had focused in. I was sent information right away regarding typical work day and salary (commission) structure and invited to a second interview immediately. The second interview was to answer more questions on my part as well as some theoretical scenarios. It was also to assess a fit for the office. At the end of the interview, I was told that the position was mine if I wanted it. After hanging up and putting thought into it, I had more questions, so submitted them via email and received thorough responses within 3 days with the offer to follow up if I required clarification. I was very surprised that there wasn't a more formal process nor a request for references. I later came to realise that as you were to be a contractor, there was minimal risk on their part, so perhaps the need wasn't there as it would be if you were an employee. The position sounded great, the people I interviewed were informative and professional. This position would be ideal for someone who has an income already through a spouse or pension or who has the financial security to be able to work in a position without a guaranteed steady income.
