Talked with a great recruiter on Linkedin. Had a chat on the phone and got in contact with a PM. PM was spaced out on the phone and couldn't give me a straight answer on the project needs. Made it clear I want FT position with benefits etc. Followed up with recuiter and spoke about concerns. Second interview with the team wasn't much better. Everyone was running around with their heads cut off not knowing what the client's demands (PG&E) are. Wanted to put me into PT on call position. I again made it clear I am not intersted in PT. They agreed to give me FT hourly with recolation on the phone for Bay Area. I told them my rate will be higher to compensate for the 25% increase in costs to live there. They agreed on the phone. Believe it or not, they wanted me to start the following week with no price mentioned at this time. Do I look like I work for free?
I contacted the rectuiter and mentioned the summary of what happened and my concerns. I gave a competive rate to be compensated with in addtion to plans for relocation in the near future. I waited for 2 weeks with no response. Today I got an offer that acknowleded NONE of my concerns, rate, benefits, relocation etc. What company wastes about 20 to 30 hours of interviewing a candidate to have them walk away?
The offer was so patheic that I told my recuiter I was insulted. I wouldn't work for this company if they paid me double the rate. TRC Companies needs to fire these spaced out individuals and get qualified managers. One month of interviewing back and forth to toss the offer in the TRASH.
