      Entretien pour Pricing Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez TELUS (Toronto, ON) en janv. 2024

      Entretien

Recruiter phone screen, hiring manager chat, then a take-home case study assignment with very tight deadlines followed by a 3-person Panel interview. *Be careful applying to TELUS, they do internal hiring a lot and post jobs/interview candidates just for legal purposes. Most times, they already have their preferred internal candidate. In their job description, look out for things like "Must possess a deep knowledge of TELUS' business" or something along those lines because who else has a deep knowledge of TELUS except for existing employees???* INTERVIEW The Hiring Manager was also a walking RED FLAG during the chat. First, the HM said they work for over 12 hours a day but don’t expect me to do the same (yeah right), then went on to say "in our team, we are a family". Also, the HM asked me personal questions like my age and marital status!!! Isn't this illegal??? (So many red flags!!!). Then, HM really pressured me to schedule the next interview ASAP and gave me only 1 slot in their calendar so I literally had no choice to pick a suitable time at least. The case study was literally 35+ hours of unpaid work!!! It was so much financial modelling and analysis with only 3 days (weekend) to do the work. I was told my presentation was for 15 minutes but immediately I got to 8 minutes, I was told to quickly wrap up (I know my presentation is great because go my past work experience and projects so I had no doubts about my capabilities). After the presentation, I wasn’t even asked any questions and that's when I had a feeling that I was being strung along because if they were really interested, they would've at least asked some follow-up questions. After the presentation, I was asked a few behavioural questions (I think I did 65% good in this, as I didn't have time to practice due to the extensive workload of the pricing case study). Then almost 2 weeks later, I got a message from the hiring manager (not HR) that they went with other (internal) candidates but they can give me some feedback. When I replied kindly and asked for feedback to help my career progression, I WAS GHOSTED!! Why did they ever imply that I could receive feedback in the first place. Whenever I see a TELUS job advertisement, I delete it immediately.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

      1. Tell me about yourself 2. Why are you leaving your current role? 3. How would you prioritise conflicting work from 4 managers (different levels) with a tight deadline? 4. How many flights come out of Toronto Pearson Airport per day? (market sizing approach for consultants). 5. Tell me about a time you dealt with a challenging situation
