Odd interview process. 2-3 rounds. It began with hand-filling out a packet of questions that felt like it was a 5th graders homework (strange questions that didn't feel relevant to determining a good fit). Actual interview was easy, as in easy to BS. Just answer like a stereotypical hardo sales bro and you will get the job. Each round began with the same 10-15 minute brain washing seminar about how this is the best pharma company to ever exist and why you're lucky to even be getting an interview for "the career of a lifetime." More selling-at-all-costs oriented than caring about patients/ product/ integrity. Second interviewer/ director shared that they like seeing people in high debt or with shopping addictions because it means they will sell. They shared that having hobbies or extracurriculars is a red flag, (i.e. little league coach, volunteering) because that means you won't give everything to the job. No concern for work-life balance. Interview was also hyper focused on questions about previous employment, specifically how much money you made and how many calls per day you made.

This was the most outrageous interview process I have ever experienced. I feel they are extremely inconsiderate of your time and efforts. If the interview process is any indication as to how Supernus operates as a company, I am grateful to have dodged this bullet. The recruiter I worked with was lovely and diligent in advocating for me. I received an initial phone call from the manager covering the territory I applied for and they were pleasant to speak with. This all took a turn when the manager called for our official phone screen. Upon asking about my education, I was stating the years I attended my university, and they cut in asking me if I knew what specific months I started and graduated. To make it more odd, then abruptly asked if I knew my GPA, when I have been graduated and in the workforce for several years. I believe it was a 3.5, but without accessing my transcripts, I truly do not remember. Why is this relevant when I am not a new graduate? They then begin to interrogate me about my sales experience, not recognizing that some of the questions and reports they are looking for do not apply directly to my current company and sales role. I repeated myself several times and felt they were not understanding or acknowledging what I was explaining. I remained extremely professional and poised throughout the entire process, which the recruiter acknowledged and commended me for. As we are wrapping up our call, they tell me I should hear back within the next day, but if I do not, they went in a different direction. I was told they were interviewing 6 candidates and they’re sorry but they just don’t have time to contact everyone with reasons or feedback if we aren’t moving forward. I’m sorry, but if you do not have the time to give SIX candidates the courtesy of notifying them where they stand in your hiring process, I feel that is both disrespectful and an indication that you may be overworked. Everything I experienced I felt could also possibly indicate some internal issues at the company. I then receive feedback from my recruiter, letting me know the manager would be happy to explore moving forward, if I can provide a “brag book.” I spent hours, all night, putting together an impressive brag book. Collecting reports, screen grabs of any recognition I’ve received, getting letters of recommendation, etc., all with a days notice. If an extensive brag book was required, this should be clear in the job description or explained during our initial phone call. I submit this book and received feedback the next day that they were very impressed and appreciated my efforts, BUT they’d like me to provide dates for congratulatory emails I included and asked for extremely specific reports and rankings that I do not have access to. I even provided a message from my current management advising they do not have access to said reports, along with reason why it was not applicable to our company/industry at this time. I felt Supernus to be nitpicking at irrelevant information. You would have thought I was interviewing to be a CIA agent. Would you also like my first born child? Nevertheless, I updated my brag book to include dates and obtained an additional letter of recommendation, in hopes to move forward, as I have now invested an extensive amount of time and effort in this. I received a call from my recruiter the next day notifying me that my efforts were appreciated, but the manager can’t move forward with me if I can’t produce reports that I literally do not have access to at my company. If my efforts were truly appreciated, I feel the manager would have had the decency to speak with myself again and call my references to recognize that I am a top performer and would be an asset, after putting me through this process. I do not recommend anybody waste their time with this interview process. I feel it was overall a very out of touch, inconsiderate process on their end. I had an absolutely horrible experience.
