A direct recruiter reached out to me for the role based on my LinkedIn profile and gave me a link to apply. When I responded to her and asked when we could speak, she never responded. I went ahead and filled out the application, and reached out to the recruiter the next day letting her know that I had applied, and I still never got a response from her. About a week and a half later, I received an automated email saying that they had decided to pursue other candidates, so I never even made it to an interview. My resume and application match my LinkedIn profile exactly, so to not get an interview after being contacted directly by the company was extremely frustrating. To date, I still have not heard back from the recruiter. Seems very unprofessional to me.
