      Entretien

      Call from an HR Woman and was asked questions for about 20 minutes. She was very nice but strict. When it was time that she finished asking the questions, and I was able to ask her questions, she became very serious and let me know who was on top of the medical device world. she emphasized so much that Stryker doesn't mess around, and if you're not winning… you're done.

      Entretien

      Was referred by a local physician and customer of Stryker. Initial phone discussion was with local sales rep covering the accounts. Face to face interview was scheduled for a Friday afternoon at 4:30 at the Peabody hotel in downtown Memphis. Interview was conducted in the lobby with about 100 guests and tourists crowded around to see the Duck March. Regional Manager was supposed to be present, but he caught an early flight leaving the sales rep to do the interview. The sales rep was dressed in sweat pants, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes (because he had "been in cases all day"). The interview was basically him reading questions from a sheet and having to yell them to me because of the noise in the hotel lobby. I was neither impressed with the process or the results of my time with him.

      Overall, I feel that Stryker is a cold company. They are only concerned about sales, sales, sales, and will chew you up and spit you out without a second thought. Could be one reason the company has impressive growth. I'm not necessarily knocking it; that particular culture works for them. Stryker says they don't hire resumes or experience, but rather personalities. I'm not sure. I was inexperienced in the industry but had other sales experience. At the time I believe they simply had far too many qualified applicants with many years of industry experience for each open position. Overall, the interviewer was ice-cold and I'm almost certain she was only doing my father, a Stryker client, a courtesy.
