Got a phone call early one Tuesday, which I missed, then called back and left a message. Later that day I received a call back and was interviewed for the position. Easy questions, with no surprises. Things seemed to be going fairly well. By the end of the interview I was feeling pretty confident. I was told that I would hear back from him by Friday at the latest, because he needed to speak with his bosses. Friday comes and goes with no word, so I send a polite email over the weekend checking in. There was no response to email by the time Monday rolled around, so later in the day I called the interviewer and it went to his voicemail. I left a message inquiring how things are going and left it at that. Several weeks have passed with no word at all. It's a little annoying to have no response when I was told I would be contacted, and no response when I inquired further. It's a simple thing, but I would have appreciated it.
