J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Stripe (San Francisco, CA) en janv. 2021
Entretien
I applied online without a referral and HR reached out to me within a week.
The phone screen was pretty easy and conversational. It was probably the only enjoyable interview I had. The remaining interviews were extremely impersonal. Interviewers were literally reading pre-scripted questions off the screen, gave no feedback, no response, only asking to confirm if I was finished giving my answer. It was an incredibly sterile, impersonal and uncomfortable process. The interviews were short at about 30min each and left very very little time for me to ask them questions so throughout the process I was struggling to get a better understanding of the position itself.
After the first interview with a team member I was given a technical take home project involving using their APIs. The task was overall fairly easy, however, it was made unnecessarily more complicated as the project left out a fair amount of background info that anyone outside of the Payments industry would not be privy to. It also didn't help that their API documentation had a lot of links that looped or didn't actually link to the information you'd expect it to link to.
After successfully completing the API take home, they scheduled another interview to go over the project. There was extremely little information about what the interview would entail, or if anything should be prepared, even after pressing the recruiter for more info. Naturally this led to a poorly prepared interview where I was asked more questions read off their computer. The questions were pretty open ended and I wouldn't say particularly difficult, but it was very clear they were looking for a specific answer. When asked to clarify they basically just repeated the original question. Again very sterile and uncomfortable.
After that interview they just stopped contacting me and ignored my follow up emails.

I was brought back for a total of 3 rounds one which included a Broken API exercise.
Round 1 with HR routine questions regarding experience and why I wanted to work at Stripe.
Round 2 Hiring manager in-depth overview of the role and team, reviewed my experience with API's and talked through the new product.
Round 3 with team member .Broken API technical walk through and Q&A about the org and team
Everyone I met with seemed to be smart , knowledgeable about the company and very open about the challenges. The process was very positive until I was ghosted by HR. After a week of waiting on feedback I sent a follow up email and never received a reply back. No response is a response. It's very unprofessional when a candidate goes through multiple rounds and is ignored. Its ok if the role is better suited for someone else but to not even get a response is truly disrespectful

Sent an application and was asked to arrange for an interview. Recruiter responded with a set time to do the interview, but called it off last minute stating that he was sick. After which, I tried to follow up but got ghosted.
