Ridiculous. Your normal 3-4 interviews, then an assignment, then and in my opinion this is the most ridiculous time wasting part: a 4+ hour "tour" of the school. That frankly you should absolutely not be doing until you know for certain (read 80%+) that this is either your top choice or 1 of like 2 or 3. In today's economy no one has that amount of time to waste, and it was a waste. Other faculty, and students complaining either directly or indirectly about their experiences while I was there. Nothing I was there for couldn't have been expressed in a 1 hour interview. Yes they provide lunch, but quite frankly 4 hours and a lunch is simply not cost effective. So prepare for all of that.
