J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez Status (New York, NY)

      Entretien

This was one of the strangest "interviews" I've ever had. 1st step was a video call with the recruiter, who seemed to be pretty unprepared for the call. He spent about 5 minutes telling me basic info about the company (most of which could be found on the website), asked me zero questions, and then said "ok well this is basically just an introduction, the next step is a design challenge." He also made a point to emphasize how important it was that I get the designs done "as quick as possible", but gave no clear deadline. Ok, hmm.... The design challenge seemed normal enough, but I found it very strange that this was the second step, with the first step not even being much of an interview. I found myself thinking "you want me to do these designs, but you don't want to ask me any questions at all?" This set off alarm bells in my head - reminding me of stories I've read about companies that request designs as part of an interview, but are really just looking for free design work and have no intent of actually hiring anyone. I know design challenges are a normal part of design interviews, but I would have expected that as a 3rd or 4th step in the process - after talking to multiple people. Who knows, maybe this is legit, but I thought it was a very strange process for an interview. I emailed the recruiter saying I was no longer interested, and that it seemed to strange to me to ask for designs without asking me any questions at all. His response was (and this is a direct quote) "Didn't we have a phone call?"... and that was it. Um, do you not remember if we had a phone call or not? Is that all you have to say? Needless to say, I passed on the job, and did not do the design challenge.
