      Entretien pour Content Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Starling (Londres, Angleterre) en mars 2019

      Entretien

I applied online and was invited to interview with the Comms Head and the SEO manager. The questions were all pretty straightforward and relevant to the role - asked about my experience with content, SEO, etc. etc. There was one awkward moment where I referenced a project I worked on, was asked to find it on the internet, and ended up landing on a 404 page, so if you're interviewing for this kind of role, make sure your portfolio is up to date and that you know where everything is. Overall, I don't think I acquitted myself particularly well or particularly horribly, and looking at the person they eventually hired, I suspect they were simply looking for candidates with more experience. No hard feelings about that. The negative part came afterwards - I sent a followup email, was told they'd be in touch soon, and then...nothing. No further contact whatsoever, no automated 'sorry, we're going in a different direction' email, not a peep. I understand that the company has to sift through 'large candidate pools full of talented people', but I've hired people myself and I don't think a polite rejection and some feedback is too much to ask. However busy you are, ghosting candidates is not acceptable. If you're going to ask people to prepare for interview, come to your offices, maybe book off work, then respect their time enough not to keep them hanging. It's a very old-fashioned approach for a bank that's supposed to be cutting-edge.
