When being interviewed, it is absolutely essential to find out how many people the store manager has promoted in the last year. If the number is low, then take it as a sign that the store manager does not know how to mentor and coach and set up a team for success. To see if the store manager is subscribed to Starbucks vision, ask what sorts of community involvement the store has been a part of. If the store lacks in giving back, it will lack in positive corporate culture.
