J'ai passé un entretien chez Stanley Martin Homes (Reston, VA)
Entretien
I completed the interview process with Stanley Martin and ultimately received an offer, but I decided not to move forward.
On paper, the opportunity seemed promising. However, after meeting with members of leadership during the process, I came away with real concerns about the team culture and overall working environment. My impression was that communication style, professionalism, and interpersonal dynamics were not what I look for in a healthy organization.
This was not a compensation issue. I declined because the interview experience itself changed my view of the company. Interviews go both ways, and by the end of the process I no longer felt confident that the culture would be a good fit.
My advice to other candidates is to pay close attention not just to the role, but to how people conduct themselves throughout the process. That told me more than the job description did.
Remember that candidates are evaluating leadership and culture just as much as leadership is evaluating them. A more professional, respectful, and thoughtful interview experience would go a long way.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
They asked me to walk through my background and explain why I was interested in the role, although the interview itself felt somewhat unprepared and unstructured.
