I had high hopes for this! :/ I applied and heard back less than 24 hrs later requesting a chat with the recruiter. During the recruiter call, it was obvious he was trying to get through the call as soon as possible. Didn't ask me about my resume or why I was interested in the position and didn't give me much information about the position. He later emailed me interview preparation materials which stated I'd be asked an algorithm question where I could use my language of choice. I thought this was odd since I was supposed to be interviewing for a frontend position but I know many big companies still ask frontend devs leetcode questions. So I decided to grind leetcode in the meantime and didn't study much frontend stuff. When I got to the actual interview, it was the exact opposite of the interview prep given to me by the recruiter. The actual interview wasn't too difficult, just some DOM manipulation and CSS. I bombed this though. Since the recruiter specifically told me I'd be asked algorithm questions, I was caught off guard, froze up, and was totally unprepared. As expected, I got my rejection email the next day. Long story short.. don't believe the recruiter 100%? Or hope to have a recruiter who cares enough to know what position you're actually interviewing for. Or maybe just be more thorough and prepared for anything, I suppose.
