I applied to the team based in Seattle. The interview was not difficult so much as it was poorly organized. They put the skill test, the most time-consuming aspect of the interview at the beginning, so you have to spend hours working on that before talking to anyone who would actually be involved in your hiring decision. Every person I spoke to gave me a completely different description of the job and the skills and qualities they were looking for. One of the hiring managers seemed genuinely baffled when I asked her what the organization’s values were, which is one of the most basic questions a candidate can ask.
Ultimately they rejected me after 5 rounds of interviews because I “didn’t have enough experience.” I’m not sure why it took them 5 rounds of interviews to determine I lacked experience. I understand lengthy interview processes are the norm at top tier management consulting firms, but for an entry level communications consultant position with a $50K salary, the process is absolutely overkill. I wouldn’t recommend applying here unless you want to waste 5+ hours of your life talking to people who clearly don’t respect you.
