A recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn. Set up a call with them and their manager (i guess, it wasn't clear the person's position) and had a great interview. Though the position was new, the requirements and responsibilities for the positon were directly in line with my leadership experiences. As I stated, the call went well and they sent a RTR for me to sign so we can commence to next steps. I sent a thank you email. Early the next morning, the recruiter called and asked if I could add my MONTHS to my resume. I politely declined and stated I have a deep resume so remembering the exact months I worked is not possible and I do not want to mislead anyone, so I place only the year. I told the recruiter my process and welcomed them to add months if needed and they seemed really taken back and upset by the concept and they quickly hung up. A few days go by and I reach out for the next steps we discussed. I get a reply blowing me off, while also blaming their client. I don't buy that. After the immature knee-jerk reaction, the weird dismissal seems to be some ego-fed retaliation for not jumping through stupid archaic hoops to cater to the recruiter's every whim. Very immature, I could not recommend Springbok IT for my hiring practices. Ego and Immaturity seem to be their calling card in recruiting.
