The interview process was straightforward, consisting of a coding round followed by a brief introductory call with the hiring contact, Tom. After requesting a two-week preparation period, the interview was scheduled accordingly.
The interview itself single-round process but lengthy, that spanned approximately two hours and fifteen minutes. Three interviewers conducted separate forty-five-minute sessions.
The format involved rotating interviewers, with each participant joining and leaving the call successively.
1) The first session focused on my work experience. The potential line manager delved deep into my resume, exploring the projects and roles I've held.
2) The second session was more theoretical in nature. The interviewer probed for in-depth knowledge of Spring Boot, Kafka, and Linux internals.
3) The final round was a general technical assessment. This included writing two pseudocodes and explaining my problem-solving approach.
Overall, the interview provided a comprehensive evaluation of both technical skills and work experience.
Impressively, I received the interview results within just one day.
I applied through their website. They rejected me before any interviews because "At Sporty we look for candidates who are looking to grow with us over a long term, sadly we would not be able to proceed with your application due to concerns regarding your tenure" My CV literally states that most of the places I worked at closed and that I was there until the last day, so they probably didn't even read it.
I recently had a negative experience with Sporty Group, a company that I had applied to for a Software Engineer position. I passed all of the interviews and received an offer letter, but after just one week, the company decided to regret my candidate. This sudden change of plans was extremely frustrating for me, as I had already resigned from my previous job and was ready to start working for Sporty Group. The company's decision to regret my candidate at such a late stage was unprofessional and caused me significant inconvenience. Additionally, I found the hiring process at Sporty Group to be extremely slow and disorganized. Throughout the interview process, I was constantly being redirected to different people and it was difficult to get clear answers about the status of my application. I would not recommend working for Sporty Group, as their hiring practices seem to be unreliable and lacking in professionalism. If you are considering applying for a position with this company, be prepared for the possibility that they may regret your candidate at the last minute and for a slow and disorganized hiring process.
