Had a 15 minute conversation with a junior HR person in which we discussed the position and the company. Did not discuss my experience or anything very relevant. The conversation fell flat the moment I mentioned having kids. I think the question was something like ‘What do I like to do in my spare time’ and I like to spend time with my kids. I was very qualified for the role but it was clear that either her ageist attitude, or the fact I have kids, would exclude me from further candidacy.
