J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA) en févr. 2013
Entretien
I had received a phone interview. It was very technical with principals based in Mechanical Engineering. These ranged from optimizing the cross section of a beam, to discussing buckling load, to some brain teasers. My resume was briefly looked over but I did not get a chance to talk much about it.

Question 1
The most difficult question the question on buckling which I had not learned yet. For that reason the interviewer asked me to piece together the equation for buckling load from intuition.

The recruiter reached out to me to schedule a technical interview. Did the interview for 30 mins. Then in two business days, I got an email where I got rejected.

Applied online in January. Received a phone call on March 18 about scheduling a phone interview with the Structures Team. Interview was two days later, on Thursday.

Question 1
Typical questions about Statics and Mechanics of Materials: Fixed wall with an aluminium beam in between. The beam is heated, what happens inside the beam at and the walls? How would you optimize a beam, which is fixed to the wall at one end, for a vertical load at the very end? What is happening at the wall due to the vertical load? How would you optimize a beam for a torsional load?
