Applied online and got no response from a recruiter. Scoured the internet to find the email of one the recruiters and told her that I think I am a good candidate for their specific needs and that I had limited time because I had an offer elsewhere. A few days later another recruiter emailed me a C-style debugging quiz. It's not difficult but has some gotchas. Fast forward a week and the recruiter says I passed. We set up a time to talk over the phone. She never shows up. We reschedule for a few days later and we talk over the phone. I can barely hear her and she's talking about how their office is a mess right now. No kidding. She then asks me some simple systems level programming questions. Questions that range from C++ features to embedded systems to some simple math problems. She immediately says I passed that and the next step would be a talk with an engineer. OK. After that? Nothing. No emails from the recruiter, no response when I email her. Cool.
