The role was reviewed after my application, but I was still considered for the role. Things seem to be going well until the final stage interview. Response was delayed twice, and the second time it was clear they were waiting for another candidate to accept. My rejection email was sent last thing on a Friday evening with a feedback that contradicted the response I got during my face to face interview. A few weeks after, the role became available again.
