I received a call from a Recruiter and completed a 30 minute phone interview. I was later scheduled for a 2 hour Cisco video interview with two HR Managers. About 1 week after the video interview I received a call back from the recruiter advising the position was between myself and another candidate. I was finally scheduled for a final phone interview with the Operations Manager. About 1 week after that I received a call with an offer for the position.
Below were my issues after the interview process:
-Hiring group never scheduled to actually meet with me or give me a tour of the customer facility
-Was attempting to pay 45-48k for an HR Manager job (this isn't 2008 anymore. The unemployment rate in Charleston is 5%).
-It took 7 business days after the verbal call to receive an actual offer letter
-Offer letter did not contain benefits information or prices. When I requested the information in order to consider the entire compensation package as a whole they informed me the prices would not be provided until 3 weeks after my start date.
-I reminded them the FLSA law was scheduled to go into effect this year and they could not legally classify me as exempt if they paid less than $50,440. They refused that rate when I countered. It took them 1 week to respond to the counter.
-I informed them I would not put in my notice once they confirmed all screens were cleared. The offer letter contingencies and emails only discussed a drug and background. Two days before I was about to put in my notice I received a call from the customer advising I was required to complete an unpaid orientation (not legal) and physical.
-I sent an email to the hiring group informing them of the call and requested to move my start date. -After 1 week of no response I finally sent them an email declining the position.
Awful experience! I felt the lack of communication and disorganization was definitely going to be indicative of my experience once I actually started with Sodexo. At no point when I declined did anyone bother to call to further discuss my concerns. I later discussed the situation with a friend who mentioned a friend of hers worked with Sodexo as a Dietitian and claimed it was a terrible company and the benefits were terrible. Now I know why they didn't want to send me the benefits info. You treat people poorly before they even start and offer nothing to be competitive in the market.

Phone screening with a corporate recruiter. I applied for an HR Manger II role and she tried to tell me it would be more like an HR Generalist role. At some point she asked what my salary’s expectations were and I stated an amount 20 grand less than what was listed on the job posting but I could tell that was still much more than she wanted to hear as she immediately wrapped up the interview. As part of my final questions, I asked what the HR structure was for this particular location and she said the position would function as the sole HR person. That is a lot of responsibility to then turn around and try to lowball that person on pay. I doubt I will be hearing back from them but be wary. There are many other reviews in which other applicants state they were also lowballed or told about a position different from what they actually applied for.
