Recruited on Linkedin for a Senior Account Manager role and had an initial call with the recruiter Leanne which went well. Was then asked to complete a multi-tab Excel task including a full campaign timeline, influencer reporting analysis with XLOOKUP/SUMIFS/COUNTIFS formulas, segmentation tables, a chart, and a 500-word written analysis — all unpaid and completed within a few days. Was also asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before receiving the brief. After submitting, received a rejection email citing specific formula errors, some of which I went back and verified were either caused by ambiguous data in the brief itself or were factually incorrect callouts. The reach and engagement figures they flagged as wrong were actually calculated correctly based on the raw data provided.
Be aware this is a pattern, multiple other Glassdoor reviews describe the exact same experience of completing a detailed task and being rejected regardless of quality. Do your research before investing significant unpaid time into this process
