Did a last-minute interview for a temp role through an agency. Completely unnecessary imho. They could have picked any one of the candidates and it would have been fine. But these days some employers seem to be on a power trip and are demanding proper interviews for temp roles, sometimes very short-term and NMW. It seemed like a chance for the employer to make themselves feel important. Employers used to accept candidates that had been vetted by an agency without further interviews.
Thankfully, I was not offered the role as I since read the reviews for SWE and it doesn't look like a great place to work to put it politely. The interview was competency-based if you ever have the misfortune of being offered one with them. That was the first and last interview I did for a temp role via an agency. I started applying direct with companies and will never register with an agency again.
