After receiving an email to schedule an interview, I met with the hiring manager. The hiring manager explained that they would be talk about what the position entailed and that the interview would follow a conversational style. The HR proceeded to describe the position, and did not ask me any pertinent questions. They asked me if I had any question, which I did. The interview ended with the HM letting me know I would receive an email letting me know if I was selected or not to move forward. I received an email letting me know they decided to move forward with another candidate for that role. My perception of the interview was that I was not being interviewed to actually be hired. It seemed more as it was maybe just to show more candidates were interviewed. In addition, the position was reposted recently for the same location which seems odd if they had move forward with another candidate. More over, during the interview, after I asked if there was anything they wanted to address, I was told no, because I matched pretty well what they were looking for. I did not receive any feedback as to why I was not selected.
