      Entretien pour Product Manager

      2 mai 2021
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Salt Lake City, UT
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Snap Finance (Salt Lake City, UT)

      Entretien

Interview process through recruiter took quite a bit of time. Seems like they really like to delve into the candidates pretty closely and they are very thorough with evaluation. I felt like I wasn’t given much of a chance because I didn’t have the traditional product manager pedigree even though I am currently launched multiple successful SAAS products

Started out great. Applied online, talked with the overly enthusiastic recruiter, talked with the hiring manager. Got positive feedback. Then, multiple weeks with zero contact despite attempts to follow up. Got an automated rejection in the middle of the night.

      Entretien

I was referred to this company twice, a year apart, and both experiences were extremely disappointing and unprofessional from the recruiting team — especially given the consistent positive feedback I received throughout both processes. The first time, in 2024, I was told an offer was being prepared. Two weeks later, after multiple follow-ups, I finally learned the position had already been filled. Disappointing, but these things happen. A year later, as a referral again, the same situation occurred. I completed multiple interviews, received messages indicating that we were on track for an offer (I had an offer from a different company and they knew it), and then communication simply stopped. Emails, calls, and messages went unanswered for weeks, with the last communication dropping off after asking my availability for a final chat with the hiring manager. It’s difficult to understand why a company would repeatedly tell a candidate they’re moving forward and things are going great, only to disappear. Once could be an oversight; twice suggests a pattern. Both times involved different recruiters and hiring managers, which makes the consistent lack of follow-through even more concerning. If the decision is not to move forward, that’s perfectly acceptable — but leading a candidate on about an impending offer or at least a conversation and then cutting off communication reflects very poorly on the company’s hiring process and respect for candidates.
