      Entretien pour Consultant

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Slalom

      Entretien

HR contacted me via LinkedIn and was pursuing me quite fervently until I got back with a yes for an interview. Lots of back and forth emails for a month, following by 3 in-person interviews with their consultants on one day. On the day of interviews, HR was not even available to check how things are going. Her main focus was on how their company is different than Big 4, how I will benefit if I join them. People in the office try hard to look busy. I have major doubts about their structure- (flat structure for consultants with 5-7 years experience and manager with more than 12-13 years experience) I see no career growth in that model, no real business consulting environment and the thought leadership that Big 4 provides. It looks more like the staff augmentation. And what is with the offer process? they will give confirmed offer letter only when they have a solid project from client. In my conversations, HR and other consultant kept selling the job based on their strong pipeline. The reasons I will not join Slalom is because I love working with Big 4. There I don't have to worry about bench time, so called strong pipelines, and the support i get from amazing leaders there simply can not be replaced by the promise of a pipeline. I work there, because real consultant don't just work on fitting the gaps ( that staff aug companies do), I get to work with amazing leaders, I get to deliver full end-to-end consulting solutions for large global organizations and i get to work in the business development side ( hence strong pipeline is not going to be a value add for me) . Agree, I sometimes sacrifice because of frequent travel ( but that is worth it because I never have to worry about logistics, i always get to fly to client sites, get to stay in awesome hotels near client site Monday- Thursday, Fridays remote work, don't forget the awesome benefits.) If i ever get to a point where I feel that i know it all and i don't want to do amazing value added work for my clients, i may consider joining Staff Augmentation culture. But i guess that is not going to happen for a long long time until i decide to switch my career. By the way, your interview panel helped me in my analysis. I just can not see myself fitting in the team where senior folks keep telling me that they are tired of working in the same field again and again. So thanks but no thanks!
