The hiring process included 3 interviews -- 2 phone and 1 on-site. The first was a behavioral interview where the recruiter asked about my programming experience and background as well as what I was looking for in Slalom. They also asked about salary expectations right from the start. The second interview was by a senior engineer and was more technical, but not by much. The third was a two-parter, where the first half was technical and the second half was explaining more about the position and company. Overall, the interviewers were very friendly. No coding was required, but I was asked to explain some concepts at a high level. I had some issues with communication. The person who conducted my first interview stayed my primary contact throughout the process. While he was very nice, he once didn't call me at our scheduled time and only followed up the next day. The main reason I didn't take their offer was that the compensation was lower than I expected (more than 10% lower than my current income, which they knew from the first interview). I tried to counter the offer, but then never heard back.

Spoke with recruiter. Didn’t have anything right now; I don’t think anything will come of it. But it was nice of them to reach out knowing I was interested. I’ve interviewed a few times but all three times nothing really happened so hoping I stay in their system.
