      Entretien pour Account Manager

      Entretien

Fairly detailed initial online application. Took quite a bit of time to answer the questions, craft a cover letter and build out my resume for the position. I was lucky enough to make it to the second round, a phone interview. Phone interview was great, she was lovely on the phone, asked some great questions, and was receptive to me asking questions of the company, and their processes. Nailed the phone interview. Waited about 7 business days, and two emails following up, I finally got a response back. Next step was a writing exercise, they gave you multiple scenarios and inbound emails. Respond as you would if you were an account manager, fairly straight forward. Felt I was fairly strong in that category as well. Waited another 7 business days, and two more emails asking what the status was. I finally got another response back. Made it to the FINAL round, product demo. Here is where I take issue with their process. They make it extremely open ended. They say, these two people are going to be the hypothetical customers, and they want a full product demo of slack. That is it. They do not tell you how they want you to setup the call, or what they prefer or any direction. So that was a little off putting. Anyways, I figured it out, I sent them an invite, we did a Google Hangout, and screen sharing demo. I created a full test environment for the meeting. The demo went ok, but again, with very little direction, it was fairly tough to know exactly what they were looking for. I knew what I needed to work on, and I had the same feedback as them. It was too bad, but I knew it wasn't my best demo. The process was difficult, time consuming, but it was a really good screening process to test the skill of the person they want to hire. It was strange that there was zero in person meetings, and company culture fit was judged on phone and writing exercises.

Tough interview despite the long tenure, we really did not get to the core of my personality or past success. Really liked the culture but turnoff was not understanding me as well.
