Basic HR call where I was informed about the next steps. I should say misinformed as I was told next step would be a take home test on SQL skills but when I got the test, it was a case study nothing to do with SQL.

      Question 1

HR went through resume. In the case study, they ask you to design features to increase conversion rate etc. It is a timed exercise, was given 4 hours

I applied through Glassdoors and was contacted two days later by a recruiter to set up a phone call. Phone call was standard questions, mostly them giving you a background on the company and the role. After the phone call was a take home assignment in which you had 4 hours to complete a case study, complete with wireframe mockups. Once that was sent back, they reviewed it in a day and sent another email to set up an onsite interview. Onsite interview was about 4.5 hours. Their interview setup was interesting: 1. Take a GMAT style quantitative test (15 questions in 15 minutes) 2. Panel interview (someone from Product Design and a Product Analyst) 3. Hiring manager (Product Manager) 4. VP of Product 5. HR for a culture fit 6. Finance Review - but this was actually cut off (not sure if it was because they already didn't see a good fit, or if there was not a need for this section) Overall, most of the interviewers were very prepared and you could tell they all had a strong passion for Skillz, which was nice to hear! The hiring manager and VP were also both very down to earth, and I was able to have more of a conversation style interview than the traditional sense with them. I thought things went well. They said they would get back to me within a week, and the next day I was contacted by the recruiter to provide my college GPA and high school SAT scores (my SAT scores are over 10 years old). It was strange to have them use these old scores to justify my interview. After a week of silence, they gave me a cookie-cutter rejection email, which I was surprised about considering how personable they were throughout the entire process. The email made me feel like they did not appreciate my time and really soured my perspective of the company. Overall, process was a bit strange

This is the worst interviewing experience I've ever had. They gave me a take-home test. It was a 4 -hour test scheduled from 1:00 - 5:00 PM. I did not get the test at the mentioned time. I had to call up the recruiter several times. Twice it went straight to voicemail. I was finally able to reach the recruiter and receive the test by 1:30 PM. Very unprofessional attitude.

      Questions d'entretien [2]

      Question 1

With the above experiences in mind consider that Skillz is looking to improve our SDK to achieve 3 key goals. Increased monetization - LTV (lifetime value) on Skillz is already high, but this is the core KPI that drives profitability. By increasing LTV, Skillz is able to advertise to more users, and grow our playerbase. Features like tournament stakes, live events, and deposit offers/store achieve this goal currently. Increased retention - Mobile applications often look at Day 1 (D1), D7, D30, D90 etc. retention as a leading indicator of an application's performance. Retained users are easier to engage, and once a user lapses it is very hard to bring them back. Features like recurring live events, bracketed events, Ticketz (loyalty program), and push notifications drive at this goal currently. Viral Coefficient - Viral coefficient is defined as the number new users an existing user brings onto the system. It is usually represented as a percentage. For example, if every 100 users on the system, they successfully invite another 40, the viral coefficient is 40%. The refer a friend section, and share features on the after match (results screen).

      Question 2

Considering these goals, step into the role of an Associate Product Manager at Skillz, in charge of the SDK, and answer the prompts below. In answering these prompts, feel free to use any software you see fit. Please submit your results via a PDF or similar document. 1) What did you find to be the largest pain points for these goals above? 2) Relying on both your exploration of the Skillz SDK and your professional experience, describe the top three features you would propose to improve the product, as per Skillz’ business objectives. There is no need to fully design these features. A description will do and simple (even hand drawn) wireframes/whiteboards are encouraged. 3) Prioritize the three features you described above, and justify your prioritization. 4) For the top priority feature please provide: a. A document containing specifications for the feature, such that your developer team can implement it with minimal additional assistance from you. For any UI elements, there should be enough direction that your design team can create high-fidelity renderings (there is no need for you to do so). b. The structure of an analysis that you would use to evaluate the success of your new feature (no need to populate it with data – the structure and descriptions will suffice). c. A release plan for the feature.
