Applied for the job via Linkedin and next day received an email to arrange a call with HR, The job position is in London but the HR is Sydney, which is +11 hours ahead of UK.
Really friendly person, and engaging, asked the usual questions explained the interview process, went through my background experience and explained about the role and an overview about the company.
Waited a few days and then had a call on Sun night (due to the time different) to book an interview with someone based in based in the UK.
Had a 30 mins call with her which was OK, she didn't seem too engaging, and probably just looking forward to the festive holidays to have a break.
She gave a quick background of the company and role which wasn't quite what the JB stated (a mix of new and existing business) she just said, no it's a 100% new business ( cold calling).
This position is for an enterprise, Business Development Director, however I'm not sure they know what type of candidate they are looking for - it's a brand new position and the person in charge who interviewed me didn't seem very motivated/engaged throughout the interview process.
Had a call a couple of days before their office closed down for Xmas, which went ok, (again, this person didn't show much engagement on our call or the time I took to prepare)
She then asked me to put a ppt together so we could resume on the New Year, however she asked me to send the ppt to her before the NY so she could prepare her questions in advance. I sent my ppt on Boxing Day.
NY came by, and I didnt hear from her at all, chased a couple of times, HR replied saying that she was waiting for the interviewer to get to her.
2 weeks later I received an email from HR saying she was no longer putting my application forward, had to then chase them another couple of times to ask if I could have some feedback, which then she said, the interviewer would like to have seen a process that could have been implemented at Siteminder - which was very lame, giving that I never had the chance to present my ppt to her, totally disrespectful and time wasters!
Note to management: Have some respect for the candidates, you may have lost a good candidate that could had been one of your highest earner employee.
The PEOPLE that works for you are the people representing your brand and values! And the impression that was left with me, is that I would never want to work for this company or this person nor recommend ir to anyone else that I know either
