The interview followed the legally mandated California process. This included search committee members identifying them selves as "EEOC representatives". However during the interview both of those "EEOC reps" as well as other search committee members made faces at my responses even though it was obvious that I did not given an appropriate answer. Also, it was obvious that the search committee was just going through the motions to talk to me since I was a qualified candidate. In general I have noticed the level of bias against men and white people is quite high at California institutions and despite being committed to diversity and inclusion this bias leads to open mis-treatment of otherwise qualified candidates.
