Beware: Potentially a Fake Interview for Metrics and Process Information Had a 30-minute video call with a recruiting leader discussing my background and "life story." Although the first question was around my background and how I got started in recruiting, the focus for a majority of the interview seemed to be on gathering detailed information about the processes at my previous employers (KPIs, ATS used, recruiting procedures). This experience felt more like an attempt to extract industry insights than a legitimate interview. Two days later I received an automated email stating that I had not been selected. When I inquired for further feedback, I was told they had a ton of great candidates.

Went through the "life story" round and was informed by the recruiter that I will be doing most of the talking but she kept interrupting me ever so often and almost felt like she was interrogating me and came across as judgy. She did not ask questions about my professional background and approach. I am a Senior Recruiter with extensive experience and as a candidate I wanted to experience a positive rapport but I got the opposite. The initial screening was the most pleasant one.
