J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Shopify en juil. 2021
Entretien
Began with the "Life Story" with a member of the internal TA team. The next step was with the Hiring Manager, for cultural fit and skillset check. This was followed by several rounds with peers. It was very professional and well communicated throughout.

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Shopify (Toronto, ON) en juin 2025
Entretien
After a screening, I took an online "IQ"-like test. Questions are not hard, but there is time pressure. Don't fall behind. You have 30sec per question.
Then a life-story interview, which was pretty fun. My next interview 3 (!) interviews was with the hiring manager. He wanted to talk through "a real situation" to understand how I think and how we'd work together. So basically a case. This took three interviews because honestly he didn't know how to administer a case. He talked way too much. In the last interview, he brought in one other person who was able to better administer the case. Unfortunately, I admittedly botched it, so my process ended there.
Initially contacted proactively by an in-house recruiter. The first step is the "life story" interview, sizing for cultural fit. Then onto a number of rounds with hiring manager and peers, checking for team fit as well as craft expertise. Friendly people at every step. Process was efficient, but heavy (many rounds).
