      Entretien

Unusual process but friendly people. Ahead of interviewing, I queried what the salary range was since I won't spend time researching & interviewing for a role that cannot meet my salary requirements, and they said this is something they don't share until the end of the process (very unfair, since you could then waste numerous hours for a role which is paying significantly lower than what you can accept). I expressed this, and as a concession the HR contact asked me to confirm my minimum requirement so they could confirm whether they'll be able to meet it. For future reference for anyone applying, they said they'd be able to meet £46,000 at a minimum. 1st/initial call - 30min video call with another contract team member to discuss my work & contract experience, my experience with sales and why I'm interested in the role. The interviewer was personable, honest about the role and its challenges, and kept the focus on me and my experience. 2nd call - 1hr video call with a Talent team member. Very informal, with the interviewer making me aware of the difficulties of the role, and working for Shopify (team members being difficult, holding tension is a big part of working there, no offices etc.,). Interviewer was very nice, open and made me feel relaxed. The only downside here is that they asked me yet again what my salary requirements were (forgetting they had already asked and confirmed with me), and then said they'd need to confirm it with the roles line manager ahead of approving it. When I informed them that they had already confirmed they could meet my salary, hence why I continued the interview process, they said "yes, but they'll need to approve it." This was awkward because it appeared that they had given me approval when they shouldn't have, and slightly stressful because I was then concerned I had wasted significant time and energy on a role that cannot meet my salary requirements. They then informed me that they'd confirm it with the line manager, and if I don't hear from them, that's my confirmation it's been approved. Bizarre practice, and I told them I'd need it in writing, but I never received it. 3rd stage - this was 3 separate interviews with the line manager for the role (a senior member of the legal team) and 2 other contract team members. The video calls were 45mins each (2hrs 15mins in total!) and scheduled back to back, which was incredibly tough. It's also worth noting, I received no guidance ahead of this call on what style the interview would be in, or how I should prepare. I was just told in the 2nd call that the line manager for the role will conduct it how they see fit. Hardly helpful or comforting to someone with such a daunting number of back-to-back interviews. -- 1st call: Senior member of the legal team/role line manager: very informal, they were friendly, personable, and asked me to summarise my work history, then asked the occasional competency question. --2nd call: a member of the contract team. The interviewer here was very bubbly and made me feel relaxed. However, I was given maybe 5minutes to talk out of the 45mins scheduled. They spent a great deal of time talking about what the role was, the wider team dynamics, their experience at the company, what they had done, and I think in total asked me 2 questions. Whilst I have no issues with them putting the focus on themselves, I was concerned that they'd end the call where I'd hardly spoke and that'd reflect badly on me, so I felt the need to keep jumping in (since they didn't leave any room for me to speak) and emphasising my experience. I actually found this call quite stressful, because I didn't want to appear rude that I was interrupting, but they seemed totally unaware that they weren't allowing me to talk in my own interview. -- 3rd call: another member of the contract team. This interviewer was friendly, asked me a lot of questions about myself/experience, and created a relaxed environment by sharing info about themselves and making a lot of jokes. After the call, I didn't hear from anyone for a week and a half, despite following up with my HR contact, and I had no idea when I should expect to hear from someone during this time. Not very professional, and came across that they lacked consideration towards candidates that invested a lot of time in their recruitment process.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

1st: Walk me through your work history, why spotify? 2nd: Take me on a journey and explain to me the 3 moments in your life that have had the biggest impact on you, and what you learnt from them. What's your salary requirement? What's your notice period? 3rd: walk me through your work history, what's been your relationship with the sales team/how have you overcome issues, why Shopify?
