1st Interview: Roulette-style Skype interview with 4 different recruiters (5 mins each). Some interviewers came in late so I only got 3 minutes to talk to them. I don't think there was was any discussion before the meetings because everyone asked the same question (why Shopify/ why recruitment) so you found yourself repeating yourself A LOT.
2nd interview was a 1hr Skype call with the recruiter. Basically they walk through your life and how you got to where you are. No questions were technical or job-related, but maybe they save this for the in-person interview. My recruiter was late without explanation. I'm not sure if they were trying to seem 'cool' by being standoffish but their body language from the moment we started talking left me uneasy (arms crossed, looking around, checking their phone). They were just so checked out, I tried to break the ice at some points with jokes and got nothing. Left the interview feeling annoyed.
Not to my surprise, I got an email that they were picking other candidates. I'm not mad about the decision though, the whole experience was pretty bad.
All in all, I think I dodged a bullet not making it through. Everything seemed so unorganized for my interview I can't imagine how it would be working there.

Question 1
Starting at any point in your past, walk me through how you got to where you are.
The recruiters were super friendly and the overall experience was extremely positive; very responsive team and kept me in the loop about each stage ( was a long process but didn't feel confusing or overwhelming). having worked in TA for years I could tell they value candidate experience.

It started with a video round of interview which to my surprise lasted just 5-6 mins and I felt that I wasn't given a fair amount of time or opportunity to talk about my skills and interest in the company.
In depth get to know you round talking about my experiences and the roles I have worked through in the past. Felt like talking to a peer/friend, really enjoyed the experience.
