      Online Application through their website; was contacted to say no interview, responded with my qualifications and was granted 'Life Story' interview. Application process seems specifically designed to weed out Autistic Spectrum candidates

We really appreciate the time and effort people put into our application and interview process, and I’m sorry to hear things didn’t come together for you this time. While I don’t know the details of your particular case, I can assure you that our process is definitely not designed to ‘weed out' candidates on the Autism Spectrum. On the contrary, we’ve put a lot of thought and care into creating a process that includes people with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. We’re dedicated to ensuring that our interview process is as accessible as possible because we know that diversity of thought makes for the best problem-solving and creative thinking. We really value people who bring new perspectives to our teams! We back those values up with action, by doing things like ensuring all recruiters and managers hiring for the first time go through unconscious bias training and through maintaining an internal inclusion department that partners with the business and HR to ensure we are working towards reducing the risk of barriers and bias for top talent from diverse backgrounds. Those are just a few examples of the steps we’ve taken create a more inclusive hiring process but there’s a lot more to do - creating a recruitment process that works for everyone is no easy task! We’re always looking for ways to improve. If there’s something that we can do to make our application and interview process more accessible to any individual candidate they only need to let us know! Candidates should feel safe to mention any barriers they may be facing when they reach out to us, or discuss such things with the recruiter they are dealing with. We genuinely want to give as many people as possible the chance to demonstrate how they could contribute to our team! Once again, thanks for taking the time to apply and for leaving a review. Also know that there are a lot of people doing amazing work at Shopify today who weren’t successful on their first application, so I hope you won’t hesitate to give us another shot in the future (and if you do, please don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any particular things we can do to better accommodate you during the interview process).

      its a very long interview process. First you apply online, then it's a mock email, then phone interview then the gauntlet. They're super selective in their hiring, but its worth it in the end

      I applied to Shopify in December 2017. I applied online and had to build a trial store for the application, which was a little tedious but I was glad I took the time to do it. They've since changed their hiring process so it's no longer mandatory but optional (I highly recommend doing it, it will give you a feel for their platform). Within a couple weeks I had heard back from them and scheduled my "Life Story" call, which was strange at first but it was relaxed, it was more of a conversation than an interview. I was told at the beginning of the chat that I would know at the end of the 30 mins if I had made it on to the next step or not, luckily I did and I was on to the Gauntlet. I received an email shortly after to book the Gauntlet, I chose to book it for the following week - giving myself some time to study (I think this has also changed, they are trying to line it up to be right after your Life Story call). The Gauntlet was 1 chat, 1 email and 1 phone call. Remember to breathe, and really listen to the "Merchant". Don't make assumptions, and try to be as natural as possible. After I finished the Gauntlet (which was 45 mins) I was told I'd hear back regardless within a few days, which I really appreciated. Who likes waiting around to know if they got the position or not?! At the end of day 2 I received an email saying I'd got it, SO exciting! The overall process did involve putting some time into it, but it was a great experience and you have to appreciate that they're trying to make sure you're a good fit. But it also allows you to see if you would like it as well. My advice - if you get an invite to the Life Story, and this is a position you really want, start doing your research and digging deeper. Look through the help sections on their website, and the forums for commonly asked questions etc. Try to find those answers for yourself. They won't try to trick you, everything they ask is online somewhere. And if you haven't done so by this point, build a trial store. It will help you navigate and get a better handle on it.

      First the application which generally building a shopify store, then the life story with a member of the recruiting team, then moved onto the Gauntlet which would "simulate" a day in the life of-or rather bits and pieces of all of the CS tasks.
