Strong start, but disorganized process and poor follow-up
The interview process started off very positively. The recruiter was responsive and proactive in coordinating interviews, and both the Hiring Manager and their manager were engaging and professional. Conversations were insightful and gave a good understanding of the role and team.
However, midway through the process, things became less structured. Initially, I was informed there would be two rounds, but an additional round with another Hiring Manager was introduced later due to a headcount reshuffle. There were also scheduling issues (duplicate invites for the same time slot with different interviewers), and attempts to clarify went unanswered.
The final interview itself went well, and I was given positive signals regarding next steps. However, communication dropped off entirely afterwards. Despite multiple follow-ups over ~3 weeks via email and WhatsApp, I did not receive any updates.
Overall: Positive interview experience with the team, but the process lacked consistency and follow-through towards the end.
Advice to management:
Improve communication and ensure candidates are kept informed, especially when there are changes to the process or delays in decision-making.
