It was entirely about their needs, their role, leaving no time for questions but clearly they wanted not just 5+y PHP but also 3+y nodeJS and a fullstack experience to allow for future change and assurance of low training for onboarding. They were very direct about wants and demurred when asked about turnover or whether angel-type funding round allowed for recruitment to restart after many years of no recruitment. It seems PHP tech stack from 5+y ago is slowly moving towards nodeJS services thus senior knowledge of both to single-handedly do the migration. Few (2-3?) engineers for immediate task despite dozens more elsewhere.
