It was swift and conducted by one of the Vice Presidents of the department I was applying for. He was a little late, but nothing unacceptable. Started of with an introduction to the role's tasks. Then only a few questions. The interview only took place for about 10 minutes.

Rather than telling me to wait for a month, they should decline me instead. The first pre-screen went very smoothly but it stops there, which is fair if they don't make a promise that they cannot make.
