      Someone reached out to me fairly quickly after I applied. Had a short screening and then had a call scheduled the next day with the hiring manager. This is where things went down hill. They called me 10 mins late, and asked if the previous person had covered the basics of the role/company. I had said "Very basic, I'd actually hear more from you on what your vision for the role is and how it fits into your department". My question was ignored, and they started asking me basic interview questions. No responses to my answers, no conversation, it was like they were checking a box. This went on for 15 mins until they said, "I have a meeting coming up and have to go unless you have any questions for me...". I asked the same question I started with, where I was then given a rushed response, that didn't even fully answer. They then immediately ended the call and rushed off. I understand you're busy and have other things going on, but if you don't have time to be polite and properly do a phone interview, then you should reschedule. From all the good reviews, I was really excited about an opportunity to work here, but this interview was a HUGE turn off. I can only imagine what it would be like to work in this department.

      A recruiter reached out to me approximately a week after I submitted my resume to their job posting. Had a screening conversation with him the next day, he kept it brief and professional. At the end he set up a call with the hiring manager that week. This is where the positives end. The hiring manager was running 15 minutes late, so I emailed the recruiter to see if they needed to reschedule. I was called a few minutes later and was given rather poor excuse for their tardiness. Regardless, I was excited to have the interview and ready to proceed. They went straight into Q&A and the questions were straight forward. I provided them answers using examples of achievements during my time at a top Fortune 500 company. That’s when the interviewer became rather condescending, questioning the validity of my work. After they were done with what felt more like an interrogation then an interview, they asked if I had any questions. I asked them to tell me a little more about the company culture as well as their vision/goals for the person in this role. They told me about the people and their reason for joining, but before getting into speaking about the role, informed me they needed to get to their next meeting. I have had my fair share of difficult and challenging interviews, but never have I felt as if the interviewer didn't want to be there. If this is how this person treats a perspective colleague/direct report, I can't envision working with/for them.
