Red Flag Alert: "Take-Home Assignment" That's Actually Free Labor. Had an initial HR screening that seemed normal, but then came the massive red flag - they assigned an assignment that was clearly just getting free work done. For a temporary position, they wanted me to: source an actual candidate for a real job opening, develop a complete engagement activity, create a detailed onboarding plan. This is getting you to do actual work they should be paying for, especially asking for engagement and onboarding ideas/plans. The recruiting and HR team needs to reassess processes, especially for a temp role. To make matters worse, the HR director couldn't even be bothered to get my name right in the email and the HR partner followed up after said timeline. Very poor candidate experience.
