I was contacted over the phone a few months after submitting application and asked if I was still interested in a medical scribe position.
After the phone call everyone met at a coffee shop to give personal information to a company representative. There we were given information about training and the real interview (the selection process) was who would stick through training and put in the effort to learn a fair amount of material in a short amount of time. A written test is given post-training and if you receive a high score you move on to scribing.
After that you exist on a provisional basis for a period of time before the company makes you an official employee. Everyone who succeeded at the exam in my group went on to become an official employee.
All in all: you have to work a bit to obtain the position and those that put in the effort will end up being hired.

The interview process included an intuitive pre-recorded video interview as part of the initial application. Responses have multiple submission attempts, and you could watch your video back before submitting. I heard back from a hiring ambassador within 2 days of submitting to confirm my work availability and ability to commute to the proposed site. I received an offer within 1 week of applying. Response time may depend on the site and current needs. After accepting the offer, you will undergo additional steps depending on your site, including but not limited to a background check, e-consent forms, the credentialing process (paperwork, medical testing (UDS + QFT and mask fit), medical terminology exam, onboarding call, ScribeU courses, EHR training, bridge/floor training). Onboarding steps are very clear to follow, prepare you well for the role, and are paid.

One behavioral interview with a lead scribe who asked about my experiences working with patients and doctors. Although I had none, they still accepted me because of my previous experience in the STEM field and interest to go into medicine.

I was originally scheduled for a live video interview which they canceled, they then sent me an email asking if I could travel to one place, I said no, then they asked me if I could travel to a different place, and I said yes. All in all, too easy.
