I got an interview invitation one week after I applied for the position. The first interview was with HR (~45mins), I was asked about my background, previous experiences, motivation. The second interview happened a week later, and it was with Hiring Manager. This was a technical interview, but rather a short one (~30mins). In the interview, manager openly said that I am the most qualified candidate for the job and he invited me right away to visit them in person. The third in-person interview happened two weeks later, and it was rather casual. It was more about getting to know the members of a team, and I was given a lab tour... Everything went perfect, and I expected a job offer within days. However, finally after two weeks they replied that they chose another candidate who had previous industry experience. I had some questions regarding their decision, but they never replied. For two weeks following their final decision, the job was posted over and over again in Linked (even several times per day). I asked HR if they were still looking for a candidate, but they never replied. Extremely strange and non-transparent experience. I felt very misled by the manager. If one tells to a candidate that they are the most qualified for the job, they should then stand behind their words and not be ghosting a candidate.
