I want to share my experience with Samba TV to warn other job seekers about their unprofessional hiring process.
I went through a multi-stage interview process for a Senior Data Scientist position. The interviews were quite complex and time-consuming. After negotiating the salary, I initially declined their offer because I had better ones on the table. At the end of the month, they came back to me, saying that budgets had changed and they could offer me more money.
I agreed, signed a letter of intent, and waited for the official contract. The HR representative assured me that they were just updating contract templates and that I would receive the final version soon. However, I became suspicious because the job posting remained active and was even refreshed multiple times.
When I asked for updates, they kept saying, “Everything is fine, the contract will be sent by the end of the week.” The next day, I got a phone call saying they were “sorry” but they were withdrawing the offer because “something changed.”
A month later, I saw that they hired someone in my location for a Data Scientist role — obviously for a lower salary.
In my opinion, this company kept interviewing candidates behind my back to get someone cheaper while stringing me along. This is highly unprofessional and disrespectful to candidates who invest time and trust in the process.
Stay away from these people — they don’t value candidates and will waste your time if they find someone cheaper.
