Best part of the process. Fast response to application submission. Interview with hiring manager was pleasant, but, in all honesty, a waste of time. While my background was solid, he told me he wanted someone with all the same skill-sets but from local setting. He knew this before I arrived so I was stunned that I was called in at all. I countered this 'objection' with some strong points, especially with my work with local stations over the years, but it was clear there was no work-around. Again, knowing my background (resume), why call me in at all? I am all for networking and making new connections but, really...disappointment doesn't even quite cover how it felt walking out of that office.

A couple of phone interviews, a day in the office meeting with management team, great challenging questions. I loved that I was being interviewed not only for competency but also for fit. Both seemed extremely important. Those doing the interviewing were explicitly clear about the challenges facing the person in this role which I thought was refreshing.
