1. Online IQ Test. This was simpler than most other online tests (e.g. SHL on Demand). 2. Assessment Centre. Assessment Centre was split into 3 portions. Part A was a 20 min essay on a chosen technical topic e.g. motors, tunnels, quality assurance and also on emergencies. Part B was individual case study on SMRT's current challenges and to identify its main stakeholders and issues to tackle. Part C was group case study where your team is given many solutions and asked to prioritize some solutions based on a given budget. 3. Panel Interview. Part A was a HR presentation on SMRT and rail industry landscape. Part B was a tour around the depot. Part C was group panel interview, 3 candidates to a senior engineering director and a HR personnel. Overall, I was rather unimpressed. There was a delay of more than an hour on Panel Interview day, perhaps the process can be more efficiently run (since it was during Finals period). I personally disliked the group final interview because each person took turns to talk which took extremely long (and was really boring for me) and the jump between technical questions from the manager and behavioural/competency questions from the HR was so jarring. Perhaps HR interview should be separate from final Panel Interview. Most of candidates in final round were from NUS (almost none from NTU, why?). Fair share of candidates were PRC. Gender ratio was about 1 to 6 (very poor in my opinion!). All female candidates were PRC.
